Make Money Till You Get Tricked

Here is what happened to my blog: I got tricked by Pay-ads.com. The moral of the story is this: Greed makes you blind. Now here is the flesh and blood of the story.

I signed up for this ad program that has a minimum payout of one dollar. WOW, great, excellent, and the money came pouring into my account. All worked well until three days later I noticed that my blog loaded slower than usual. Then I noticed, that my readership graph nose dived into the depths of internet wilderness. Then, I held this blog contest in blogcatalog. Within seconds of posting, off came the reply “your blog led me to #$^*&(*”. When they clicked came to my site, they were led to another site full of ads.
And all hell broke loose. I couldn’t delete the widget; I couldn’t sign into my blogger account. Finally I had to go to net café to delete it. Phew!

Here are the things that I did wrong:
1) I did not check out the credentials of the website. All I had to do was to ask other bloggers through forums, but my greed prevented it.
2) I did not give a second thought to the website’s ill maintained design. The design says a lot about the website.
3) I did not WAIT!
5) But most of all I allowed my reasoning skills to be blinded by greed.

Here is what I am going to do in the future: I will start an exclusive section on online scams in this blog. I will cry foul.
